Michigan Advocates to End Seclusion and Restraint

Draft Bill
Senator Stephanie Chang's office wrote a draft bill to update Michigan's current seclusion and restraint law. This bill would prohibit seclusion, restrict restraint, provide clarity, and increase oversight, training, data, safeguards, and guidance in Michigan law. We are currently asking for feedback from stakeholders including pediatric mental health experts, educators, parents, community members, and survivors of seclusion and restraint.
